Life is an Adventure in Forgiveness

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Many domestic violence survivors struggle with grieving the loss of their past relationship(s)- regardless of how unhealthy or unsafe they might have been. Holding onto relationship regret can be toxic to our emotional health and leave us with less for our life in the present. It is like dragging the weight of our past with us wherever we go. For many, forgiveness can be the soothing balm that can heal regret. Additionally, seeking self-forgiveness can help free us from the regrets of the past. The process of forgiveness is a powerful stress-release tool that can strengthen our resiliency and energize our emotional well-being. Consider challenging ourselves to let go of our emotional regret, free our minds and connect more fully to the possibilities of future healthy relationships with ourselves and others.
